How does Dry Ice Cleaning work?

Dry Ice Cleaning can remove contaminants in three ways:

1 – Speed
2 – Thermal Effect
3 – Expansion

The dry ice pellets are propelled at incredibly high speed by compressed air through a controlled nozzle. Upon impact with the cleaning surface, the thermal effect of the dry ice hitting the contaminate loosens any adhesion that the staining may have. The expansion of the dry ice as it turns into a gas allows it to expand 800 TIMES its original size which helps to lift the stained contaminate from the surface that is being cleaned for a powerful yet residue free cleaning result.

Through a series of different nozzle sizes and configurations, we can control the method of ice blasting to suit the designated cleaning surface. This means that the rate of pellet usage and the pressure at which it is fired at can be controlled to provide a powerful yet gentle cleaning process.
