What a night celebrating 25 years of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity!
As a proud sponsor of the 25th Anniversary Fundraising Ball, it was incredible to see a phenomenal £227,000 raised to support young patients and their families treated at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children (RHC) at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) campus.
Being the 25th Anniversary Ball, we were taken on a wonderful journey through the past, present, and future of the charity. As a Glasgow-based building maintenance and rope access specialist, our partnership with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity goes back many years. Alongside our ongoing work maintaining the high-level exterior infrastructure for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, looking back over our history reminded us of some of our favourite joint community projects:
The Superhero Abseil: Putting our IRATA-certified rope access skills to creative use when our team suited up as Superman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, and Batman to descend the side of the hospital, bringing smiles to young patients right outside their ward windows and raising nearly £3,000 for hospital services.
Santa’s High-Rise Visit: Organising a mid-December specialist rope access event so Santa and two of his best elves could abseil down the hospital walls to visit the children, families, and staff (with a special appearance from Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games mascot Clyde!).
Milestone Support: Participating in the charity’s 20th Anniversary Walk and acting as a long-term Partner Sponsor across their annual fundraising calendar.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, our fellow sponsors, and the amazing volunteers who made the 25th Anniversary Ball such an unforgettable evening.
